Ok, I had to post this, I just recovered my 800Gb LVM array of 5 disks. I had shot my self in the foot about 6 months ago, when I wrote a partition table to one of my LVM disks. Thus my whole 800Gb LVM was toast, really only needed access to 450Gb since at least 300GB was test VM that are not important. So having some vacation time to work on the home server I was able to rescue it via these instructions:
http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/appnote/19386.html#CorruptedLVMMetaData Thus save a copy of that if you have any LVM volumes since it's the best recovery instructions I found. BTW I really do not like Oracle, so maybe someone could "wright that up" with other LVM instructions and publish a eBook on it? Joe Apuzzo PS hoping everyone is having as good a break/vacation as I ! ;-)
