I enjoyed Jerry's talk very much. I just joined this list. I built my own MythTV box a year or two ago and have been building mythtv from the CVS HEAD, which is both good and bad. Configuration and notes are in the wiki: http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/User:Wormholio/rosebud
So far it's still in the basement, until I can convince my wife it can join the living room, which it seems will require that it work with an IR remote. I have the parts for the sensor, but have not yet put that together.
I mainly use mythweb for scheduling, and I mainly burn to DVD and then watch the DVD, which I don't think works as well as Jerry's mode of operation as a PVR.
