Just got this email from the FSF: Independent filmmaker Luca Lucarini has just published his new film 'Patent Absurdity: how software patents broke the system'
http://patentabsurdity.com/ The film was supported by a grant from the Free Software Foundation and made possible by the Associate Membership of the Free Software Foundation http://www.fsf.org/associate/ What you can do to help: * Watch the film and give feedback to the filmmaker at http://news.swpat.org/2010/04/patent-absurdity/ * Please share news of the film with your friends using your online social networks. * Can you organize a public screening of the film near where you live? Maybe at a local school or college. You can add details of your screening at http://patentabsurdity.com/screening.html Since this topic is basically preaching to the converted here I do not think we should have a meeting about it. But I do encourage people to hold screenings at there local library and promote it ( if anyone can come up with a poster for screenings please share ). I would also suggest to hold a discussion following the screening and have information on how to take action on this topic. Joe Apuzzo GNu_Joe
