I think that the legal aspects are worth covering as individuals in the
Linux community aren't always clear about what is meant by free.

I also think that the historical value of how proprietary software came
under the copyright laws rather than under the Patent laws would be
interesting.    If Windows were a patent rather than a copyrighted work,
the patents on muc of it would be expired and other companies would be
free to make "generic" versions of the early editions of Windows,
possibly versions as late as 98 or Millenium.
