2 cents -

Personally, I've had my hands on the Eris and Droid and really like them both.
However, the Driod is more refined, has a bigger screen, etc. and also gets
OS updates immediately (i.e. Verizon customers just got the 2.1 update). HTC
phones take longer because of their customized desktops (if you will). The
Eris has a nice 3.2 " and feels big, has 500Mhz cpu, and works well - though it
feels light and made of cheap plastic. The only feature which felt cheap or an
afterthought on the Droid was it's keyboard. Note, the Driod scans and has a
flash for the camera, Eris doesn't. Hence, the trade-off seems to be a more
convenient casual phone verses one slightly bigger and more capable one - I'd
go with the latter.

My fav. phone is probably the Evo right now - I would wait for the HTC Evo
(Sprint), Incredible (Verizon), and perhaps new iPhone to come out and decide
then. The selling points of these newer phones are their 1Ghz processor,
larger 4.3" screens (big selling point to me) and Wifi features. The Google
Nexxus I heard is not on the table for Verizon 'upgraders' any time soon,
though I'm not sure who would even want it, it's not better than any of these
other phones.

Subject: [mhvlug] Question on Android phones

I have the option of getting a new phone for Verizon and I want an
Android just not sure which one. The Eris seems to be in the rear so
really it's a question of Droid vs Incredible. Incredible has a 8
megapixel camera vs a 5 on the droid but I really could care less. To
me the big differences are OLED and Snapdragon for the Incredible.
Keyboard, screen size, and true Android software for the Droid. For
me the real Android software is the issue. Reviews I have read are
that the Incredible win this catagory because it is 2.1 but it seems
like a loser to me since it is Sense and you then have to wait for HTC
to update like the Eris situation. Any thoughts would be much
appreciated. By the way where is the Verizon nexxus?
