Pulling openldap and evolution-data-server starts tearing out large
parts of the login system and gui system respectively, that's where the
rest of it starts to fall apart.
Ah, okay. Not positive, but I think these are Gnome and/or distro specific.
All package naming and dependencies are very distro specific, some by
historical accident, and some by choice (i.e. integrating ldap for
integrating into enterprise directories throughout the system). The
worst trap you can get yourself into is assuming that a foreign distro
acts like the one you are used to, because unless it is tightly coupled
(like Debian -> Ubuntu or Fedora -> RHEL) it really won't.
I had a few RHEL boxes in the office, so I've been poking them with
queries to get to the bottom of this one.
