Dependencies aren't so clean as to easily do that. If your who login
stack depends on cyrus-sasl-libs, nothing else is really going to
provide that.
The next time you run the tools to maintain the system, they are going
to figure out that things are in a borked state (from there view, as
there are holes in the dependency graph), and try to correct it. Now
you are fighting the tools that keep your updates easy to apply, and
things go downhill quickly. :)
