A desktop using identical platform (UBUNTU 10.04.1 LTS) using a Belkin adapter works fine. Windows works fine because they have an installer program for my daughter (where did I fail?)
Laptop works fine in Panera's and McDonalds. If this is going to go back and forth, might be better to work off post or via telephone, unless information is of general interest.
