I guess putting a motherboard in an oven is essentially an act of desperation;
at the point that you're about to throw the device out, that's when it's worth
a shot, as it occasionally works to fix the problem.
I'm wondering how Liberteks would have explained it to Frank if they had
succeeded in totally frying some chip and the thing didn't work at all?
A Hail Mary pass is one thing, but not if done without the customer's
consent.
I have to wonder if they didn't actually "bake" this thing hot enough to
reflow solder, but just enough to drive out moisture trapped somewhere,
that might be shorting out something? In that case, don't be surprised
if it eventually fails again and requires another baking...
