I think we should still have it as a regularly scheduled event, that
people know about well in advance.
When we were doing lunch over at Orient Buffet we had a much higher
turnout than other locations, and lots of folks not on IRC.
My vote is just move it back there, put it on a regular schedule again.

Is it really a problem?
Personally, I don't do IRC, so I like the emails, even though to date I
haven't made a lunch. Doesn't mean I never will - I have wanted to on
many occasions, but work usually intervenes. Wednesdays seem to be
particularly arduous for some reason.
I guess I am just one of those sorts that needs a punch in the head
every now and then - and can sometimes do something with it, but most
often not.
