Ad-supported for the free version, but the full is a couple bucks and it is so darn good, it was the first app I actually bought. Right now, I am listening to KQED. Seconding Trillian - however the Android version is FREE and no ads. Depends on how much you like to stay in contact though - and there are probably many, many other similar products, I have used Trillian / Astra for a long time - and have purchased it for the home system - like it a lot. What do you NEED? There are some nice calculators (I am partial to RPN-based systems and have RPN Calculator on my Thunderbolt. I also have unit converters, etc. CloudPrint - you can use a shared computer printer to print directly from your phone. Works quite well. (I got this after basically being told it was "impractical" to print from a phone - so of course, I had to go look :-) If you do any art work at all, get SMBX. The free version is a little limited, but i think the full version is $2. Not bad for an Autodesk product. WiFi File Explorer gives your device an IP address you can use to connect to from your computer and transfer files OFF the phone - I have not yet found that it will accept files, but this is usually good enough - for times when you don't have it tethered. CamScanner is very nice for turning images into PDF files - which you can then print using CloudPrint. Get on to Amazon "Free App of the Day". It's a bit tough to find on the Amazon site, and don't use the device to get it - it's painful - but check it daily. Most FAOTD items are games, but there is the occasional very useful app - makes it worth checking daily. And some people actually LIKE games. Finally - the most INDISPENSIBLE thing I have added to my phone - the 4A Duracell/XPal external battery. You have probably seen me with it at the meetings. Yes, these things devour power - so feed it accordingly. Mine works so well, I am considering getting the 16A version. JC -- Eschew obfuscation and pompous prolixity.
