Either of these kinds of work can be enjoyable. However when I look back on areas of technology I've worked in, I've come to realize that what was more important to me at the time was who I worked with and whether I was learning new things rather than specifically what technology I was working with. And I was recently given two interesting thoughts to consider which seem like they might fit this situation. - "get uncomfortable." It's along the lines of "break out of the mold". People tend to stick with the familiar, even if it's painful or counterproductive, over the different which seems uncomfortable. - "seek failure." Stretch yourself. The way you get better in Chess is to play someone better than you, which means you're likely to loose. -- Chris -- Chris Knadle [email protected] _______________________________________________ Mid-Hudson Valley Linux Users Group http://mhvlug.org http://mhvlug.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mhvlug Upcoming Meetings (6pm - 8pm) Vassar College Apr 4 - An Intro to Chef May 2 - Git Jun 6 - June 2012 Meeting
