I thought you were an AMD guy.

Regarding virtualization capabilities, that was a main criterion for my 
build.
I went *way* out of my way to get a CPU and mobo that supported 
IOMMU. (Intel
counterpart is something like VT-d). I have *no* idea if IOMMU would be 
useful
to me, but I made sure to get it.

As fate would have it, I put off getting a new HDD, temporarily using an 
old
80-GB HDD from an old PC. Then the Thailand floods hit and HDD prices
skyrocketed. So no virtualization for me for the time being.

Incidentally, I appreciated your tip about VirtualBox under Ubuntu. I 
plan to
try KVM under Fedora and VirtualBox under Ubuntu (once I get a large 
HDD).

I'm curious why you state that for your single Win8-Preview virtual 
machine
that dual core is inadequate. How did you determine this? (I have dual-
core. I
didn't think more than that would be needed for a single virtual 
machine.).
