I'm sorry you had difficulty.  I personally haven't tried version 14 and
don't plan on trying it - especially seeing that others are having trouble-
Ubuntu 12.10 already gave me tons of problems, so I really don't want
something based on 12.10 - one of the reasons I originally tried Mint 13 as
it was based on the more stable 12.04.

 I have not, in general, had difficulty with their servers - mainly because
I also enable the Ubuntu servers since MOST of the packages work regardless
of whether it is Ubuntu or Mate.  But I have noticed some odd timeouts on
their servers lately which, if I needed to upgrade would be a problem.  So
if server repository access continues to be a problem I may at some point
start the hunt for a new OS again.
