I personally haven't tried version 14 and don't plan on trying it - especially seeing that others are having trouble- Ubuntu 12.10 already gave me tons of problems, so I really don't want something based on 12.10 - one of the reasons I originally tried Mint 13 as it was based on the more stable 12.04. I have not, in general, had difficulty with their servers - mainly because I also enable the Ubuntu servers since MOST of the packages work regardless of whether it is Ubuntu or Mate. But I have noticed some odd timeouts on their servers lately which, if I needed to upgrade would be a problem. So if server repository access continues to be a problem I may at some point start the hunt for a new OS again.
