Hey MHVLUG.
I'm trying to get the Intel HD4000 and Nvidia NVS 5400M to display the same
desktop between 3 monitors on my Thinkpad. I'm currently only able to get 2
out of 3 monitors to work at the same time. The laptop is a thinkpad t530
running ubuntu 14.04. The 3 monitors (1 internal and 2 external) work when I
boot on Windows. I have been looking at xrandr and xinerama but I have not
been able to find a straight forward tutorial.
I suspect the problem is less the different video cards and more the
dual-card-single-output nature of the nivida/intel hybrids.

Xinerama and xrandr will happy take any combination of displays and
glue them together - I've even glued an intel and a usb2 video output
side by side.

unfortunately I don't know anything about the hybrid stuff.

If you want a simple tool for setting up desktops, check out 'arandr'

I got it to work from a bootable DVD but not from the existing HD install. I tried many different things including different drivers and fresh configuration files. I'm giving up since the performance of this dual card setup is very poor in linux or windows.

Thanks for the help.
