That would have been the square green (IIRC) locking connector under the 
coil pack? Connects to the "other" thermostat housing on the back of the 
block.

I presume you mention this is to account for the cold-start richness. 
This is the temp sender that some people interfere signal wise to fool 
the ecu as a cheap way for fuel enrichment on modified cars, right?

Any input on the other ideas I had? Checking torque and timing belt, 
timing, plugs, etc...
