Cars already run on air -- that's where the oxygen to burn the fuel comes from. Cars can't "run on" water, because being H2O it's essentially the "ash" that you get from burning hydrogen. It can't be oxidized further unless you had a bunch of flourine gas floating around (which would be pretty nasty). --Ian I know... but it's only one component (actually several - there are wasted elements in air) of the mixture. Imagine how much would be used up if oxygen was the only component. We need a power source that utilizes CFCs, or pet dander (or something we really don't want or require), as fuel. On another note, and with the higher fuel prices these days, it still seems odd to me that so many posts have concerned fuel economy. This is the Power list, and generally speaking, more power means more fuel. It would be nice to have both. Electro-magnetic, Mag-Lev cars may be only a few steps away on the evolutionary ladder. Isn't FM developing one already? Surely Bill likes FAST roller-coasters... **************Vote for your city's best dining and nightlife. City's Best 2008.
