I had a terrible experience with Castrol, my car now burns 1/8 of the oil it used to burn with Castrol and stays golden again, with Castrol it turned black within 100 miles...no joke. The Castrol probably cleaned the sludge out of your engine and it was suspended in the oil. When you changed it, the sludge was removed with it, so the NEXT filling of oil stayed relatively clean.
