absolutely true! clean and renewable are dirty words only to the shor sighted. man can see ahead which is one of the few things differentiating us from the lower forms. but we have to use it. even notwithstanding "junk science" like the DDT scares which resulted in its ban which resulted in *more* deaths, plus todays bed bug reinfestation. (dont stay in cheap hotels!!!!!) Actually there were a lot of real reasons not to use DDT. However, it is still used on fruits and vegetables in South America, and we import a lot of that stuff... Our wonderful chemical companies never lose sight of the bottom line, so when something is banned here, they continue to sell it overseas (unless the overseas folks ban it also). Chemical companies never intend to sell anything that's bad for us; they just haven't had testing that effectively emulates long term exposure. Today there are many more options, and there are no excuses for releasing dangerous products, so when they DO introduce such products, the only motivation is profit. I like profit.
