There’s a guy in the
DFW area that bought a 2008 Dodge pickup last week from a dealer. This was
pre-hitlist, mind you. Also, note that it was a brand-new *2008*, not 2009. Still, that’s
exactly what he was looking for in the used market. He heard by word of
mouth to go to this particular dealer (Bonham). They had 50 brand new 2008
vehicles and they were getting ready to move them to the used car lot.
Sticker on his truck was $24xxx, he got it for $13xxx. Might be a
one-off situation, but holy crap!
I read an article of one of the
owners pitching a fit, (he got the letter) and he talked about Chrysler moving
the vehicles to other lots (dealers).
I guess it all depends on who has
paid/owns the car, or maybe Chrysler has the power to take it back, pay them
back or similar.
Another dealer they interviewed was
worried that with the plant shut downs they did, he was about to run out of
inventory in a few months, so maybe they can just move the inventory around.
*this guy did say they were making
some deals, but not the outrageous deals some people felt, like offering 25% of
the sticker, it was more like 15-20% lower.

[NMC/NPC] Chrsyler Dealership
Closings
Not sure, maybe some guy with a label maker runs around
and covers the badge with a "FIAT" sticker? :)

Anyone know what happens to the cars on the
dealership lots when the
dealership closes?
There are 2 Chrsyler dealerships in my area that are on the
Chrysler "kill"
list. Was
wondering if there might be a great deal to be had with
the
closings...

Sonny
