I doubt it's the sensor itself at this point.  More than likely he wired the
aftermarket sensor wrong since the color code is probably different.

Subject: P1141 Rear Oxygen Sensor Code
 
Hey Gang,   Just got back from Iraq recently and acquired a Black 99 Miata
to cruise around in,   the only issue that i have not been able to figure
out yet is the  CEL keeps popping on and I get the code P1141 for the rear
Oxygen sensor.    I had it replaced at a shop but with an aftermarket  O2
sensor.   The mechanic in my unit is convinced that the light is not going
off because it's an aftermarket sensor.

Has anyone had to deal with this particular issue?


Any new ideas would be really helpful
