I've used Braille and Braille-equivalent batteries in a couple of race
cars with no problems. Plenty of power to turn over miata engines,
both high compression NA and low compression w/ supercharger. In
dedicated autocross car usage (every second or third weekend, with
some lengthy gaps) they last ~3 years.

The same battery as the Braille is available much cheaper under some
other names. You probably don't get the same battery post arrangement,
but that stuff is cheap at a good auto parts store. I bought my last
battery from http://www.BigCrank.com model BIG-ETX14; did just as well
as a Braille. That part# is for the 6#, not the 11#. You probably want
the 11# in anything but a full-race car.
