Until the plunger relieves it.

I've been told (and I believe it applies to my car) 10psi for every 1000 rpm

Subject: Re: Oil pressure questions.

Regarding manual oil pressure..from the fitting on the block when the stock OPG sender is, using a verified 100psi gauge (verified it against other manual gauges using the air compressor) on a 92 1.6

COLD (55*F air temp, summer):
45-50psi idle
100+psi @ anything over 3k (pegs the gauge out)

HOT
18-20 Idle
~30 @ 2000 rpm
56-60 @ 3500 (70mph)

I've been told (and I believe it applies to my car) 10psi for every 1000 rpm

Just rebuilt a 95 1.8 and we are getting what seems to be low oil pressure. At least to bottom end of the spec in the manual. Bearing clearances measure good, and has a new oil pump. I was wondering if anyone with a manual (real) oil pressure gauge typically gets at 3,4,5,6K. Also any ideas what would make the pressure low. Thanks in advance.
