Mazda customer service used to tell you the cars original equipment if
you called and gave them the VIN.
My B package 94 has a Torsen.  From your description, you have a
Torsen.  You can feel it kick in and out, there is no doubt.
I doubt you could hear a spark jump with the motor running.  If you
see one, then you'll know.  Try looking under the hood at night with
the motor running.  You may see something.  If you don't see anything,
it doesn't mean it isn't happening somewhere you can't see it.
