"The difference is they also add long waits."

Do your homework before you post. I've done academic research on this. Your
statement holds true for England certainly and somewhat for Canada, but it
is NOT a universal truth. Take a good, hard look at the Netherlands' system
and get back to us. Germany and France have good care as well. Sure they all
struggle with financing and so do we. We currently spend more on healthcare
than any other nation on earth and get less for it. I have a very good gig
and very good coverage at this point in my life, I'm happy with it. I
haven't always been so fortunate and it can cost a lot more than just the
personal effects of delayed treatment. It can seriously affect your
finances, credit, relationships and more. Also, if you think you (we) aren't
ALREADY paying for other people's care, you're dead wrong. Where do the
uninsured turn? The Emergency room. Who pays for that? We all do through
higher premiums caused by higher cost of care. Let's just do it right and
look out for each other. I'm all for free enterprise and making a profit but
we have a serious problem when money is more important than people.
