I finally got some time to dig into the problem, and the server has spent the last day or two slowly grinding through 7 weeks of accumulated spam, sending on the legit posts and burying me in discard notifications. Once I got the queues cleared (at least in the list software) I upgraded Mailman so it shouldn't choke on the next bit of malformed UTF-8 that rolls along. There are still some messages in the mail server queue, Yahoo in particular seems to be in a snit about the sudden spike in mail volume. But the archives[1] seem to be complete and coherent. Sorry about this, between the holidays and the day job, things have been kinda hectic.
