What Fred has written, below, makes a lot of sense.  Oil/Engine  Forensics, 
if you will.
Of course, Bill at FM sees lots of engines in various states of  wear and 
probably offers the most knowledgeable advice.

If you haven't drained the oil yet, or at  least haven't yet disposed of 
it, send in a sample for oil analysis.   Then you will know for certain 
what types of bearing or other wear  materials ended up in the oil.  
Anything else is speculation.   If I were you I'd Google 'engine oil 
analysis' and call a few to see who  could turn it around for you quickly 
so you'll have an answer as soon as  possible.

That said, the typical pattern is for low oil to cause upper  end wear; 
and for no oil to cause crank bearing  failure.
