I just went through this. I did a routine replacement of the timing belt,
water pump, pulleys, and seals. Oil leaked from the front crankshaft area.
I took it apart again. There was a lot of oil in the timing belt area.
I replaced the crank seal. Oil still leaked. I took it apart again.
There was still a lot of oil in there but I *think* I could see some little
trails of oil inside the black metal cover, running down from the cams. I
replaced the cam seals. I've been driving it to work for a week and the pan
is still dry.
