does low compression affect emissions?

Engine overheated a couple of times so I thought it was time to check the 
compression: 190-190-190-160.
I only do 1000 miles a year so I'm not swapping engines just yet, especially 
since it idles and runs normal.
The only thing I do worry about is emissions.  Does this kind of compression 
affect the emissions?
