Guys,

I need to swap the springs out on the lumber truck RX7 (500f/400r) and I
stumbled across something that hinted at proper setup that I had not thought
off. I'm used to the GC style not true coilovers (Stance) like I have now where
I can adjust the strut within the lower mount. The post was basically saying
proper setup should maximize travel, and improper setup would screw you and
limit strut travel.

I did some more digging and found a nice drawing (post 1) that shows the
various issues you can have:

My question (which wasn't answered where it was mentioned) is what is the
correct procedure for setup? I want the strut to have as much travel as
possible, which means as low as possible in the knuckle, correct?

Also, how does one go about selecting proper length springs? I need to get some
softer ones and can go 7, 8 or even 10". So how do you define the "correct
length" in this equation as well?
