The symptom is typical of a bad MAP box (or connection to it).

When I try and start it fires up then dies right away. If I continue cranking it never fires again. If I reset the key (turn to off then to start) it fires like the first time then dies. It has done this before but started right up after the second try. Now it is all the time.
