Went to see the Munich Philharmonic (free tickets as the friend I was staying with has contacts) on Sunday and Bob was playing French Horn. Later in the day he was playing with his own band in an area close to where I was living. I approached him and asked a question about our home towm soccer team. He nearly wet himself with excitement. His band is made up with players from the philharmonic and are a huge deal throughout Germany. They have won the German equivilent of the Grammy. Most of them have done session work for some big name or another, Stones, Queen etc.The local bank were throwing an after show drinking session to which I was invited. We spent hours catching up and getting drunker and drunker. Who knows if we'll ever meet again but I will be retruning to Munich at some point in the near future so who knows.
Yes the new (oldies) were welcomed and made the show a bit more special. Hey Little Girl should read "Girl Don't Tell Me" on the set list....I was recovering from a late night drinking session!!! He's coming to Scotland in September however I'm working that night. I'm not sure that I would go even if I were free. As great as the concert was, and a lot of that was down to the party like atmosphere created by the German audience, I think one hits show is enough for me this time around.
