I just remember how personally unimpressed with Chicago live back in the day. The Cleveland audience (usually generous) was on its feet and dancing away to the encore, "I'm A Man". Da Da du du, .. Da Da du du .. etc. "and now here is the horn section" - Da da du du .. da da du du "and now here is the guitarist from Blues Image" - Da da du du .. Da da du du.. I was thinking gee all they had to learn was that one riff repeated over and over and over and over and over. It seemed like a half an hour of Da da du du . . . That might have tainted my rememberances but I was under impressed with the rest of the show as well.
NOTES: Blues Image was the opening act. : I was equally unimpressed with the Greatfull Dead (so when is the song going to end) : and by the way Chicago was NOT the worst national act I ever saw in concert - that distinction belongs to Hall & Oats opening for the Turtles admittedly it was their first tour but they SSSUUUCCCKKKED. As I recall that week was a great one for small hall concerts as not only did we have that Turtles show but Gentle Giant played that week also. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Diamond Headz" group.
