1988 – As part of his sentence for his notorious drug and getaway
spree earlier in the year, a South Carolina judge orders James Brown
to put on a concert to benefit police and children's charities. Brown
complains to the press that the state is trying to get a free concert
out of his misfortune.
1990 – Roger Waters and special guests perform The Wall in Berlin at
the site of the former Berlin Wall.
1995 – A Los Angeles judge throws out a lawsuit filed against Michael
Jackson by five of his former security guards who allege that they
were fired after learning the "truth" about Jackson's nighttime visits
with young boys.
1999 – Charley Pride receives a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
2003 – Coldplay's Chris Martin is charged with malicious damage in
Australia after attacking a photographer's car after he had taken
pictures of him surfing at Seven Mile Beach.
2008 – John Lydon denies claims made by Kele Okereke of Bloc Party
that he was racially abused and attacked by a member of The Sex
Pistols' entourage at a music festival in Barcelona.
2008 – Amy Winehouse's husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, is sentenced to
more than two years in jail for assaulting James King at Macbeth's pub
in Hoxton in June 2006.
