My memory says he fell in September. He had 2 failed operations later, both 
to hook up an "electonic stimulator+ (for lack of a better phrase) to a 
certain nerve, that would help him breathe easier. Both times they could 
not locate the nerve.
 
I was following this story on an offical site which his wife would update. 
The site was closed when he passed.
