1888 Edison applies for a patent for his "optical phonograph", the first 
movie, with an image only 1/32 inch wide.
 
Despite the title of the Maxcess book being, "On This Day in Rock & Roll", 
the other birthdays listed for today were Arthur Miller (playwright), 
Montgomery Clift (actor), Jimmy Breslin (journalist/author), and Evel 
Knievel (stunt daredevil). I must be missing something. BTW, they had Jimmy 
Seals year wrong...
