1957 – The government of *Iran* officially *bans rock* and roll after 
declaring *that *dancing to the music is "harmful to health."

1957 – Buddy Holly records "Peggy Sue" and “Oh, Boy!” at Norman Petty's 
Studio in Clovis, New Mexico.

1959 – Dick *Clark* announces his first of four "*Caravan of Stars*"

1967 – Keith Richards is found guilty in Chichester court in London for 
allowing marijuana to be smoked in his home stemming from the drug bust at 
his Redlands home in February, and is fined £500 and sentenced to a year in 
Wormwood Scrubs prison. Mick Jagger is also brought back for sentencing 
after being found guilty two before, and is fined £100 and sentenced to 
three months in Brixton prison. Both Jagger and Richards are taken away, 
but will appeal their sentences.

1967 – While on tour with The Hollies, Graham Nash writes "*Marrakesh 
Express*."

1967 – Frank Sinatra records “The World We Knew (Over And Over)” in New 
York City.

1968 – Elvis Presley records “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Hound Dog,” “All Shook

discharge on the condition she pays the victim's medical bills and joins a 
drug program and stays out of trouble.

2007 – English singer and actress Lily Allen is picked up and questioned by 
police over an alleged assault on a photographer in March outside the 
Wardour nightclub in London. She is freed on bail.

2007 – Canada Post issues four stamps honoring Canadian music icons Joni

2012 – Photographers boycott The Stone Roses’ reunion concerts in
