Carol Kaye has been dismissing this film (which, of course, she appears in). I'll stress that this came from a blog, but was posted as Carol's words:
'wrecking crew' is a HAL BLAINE SELF-PROMOTION TERM invented by him in 1990 and is a stupid phrase, we were never known as that, and studio musicians were known as "the clique" never that.....he's an idiot, stole credits from other drummers, Earl Palmer was #1 drummer here, is the MOST-RECORDED DRUMMER not Hal Blaine who played so badly, we bass players had to hold his TIME together, and he slandered the movie musicians because....... HE COULDN'T PLAY GOOD ENOUGH TO BE HIRED FOR FILM WORK! Bad guy, his son in jail for murder for years, his daughter put in jail for embezzling a million dollars, Hal Blaine lives on pills....dated only prostitutes, back-stabbed every drummer in town to get work as the rock recording drummer (couldn't play other styles of music only rock) is a terrible person, one wife committed suicide because of him, the other sued him for beating her up....don't get me started about Tommy Tedesco either, another greedy bastard who purposely stopped Howard Roberts' royalties from his MI school so Howard died.....Tommy tried to steal my publishing co. too... yet I tho't the son, who's an expert LIAR and USER of musicians might be OK, Denny Tedesco is a LIAR, THIEF, and USED US FOR HIS STUPID FILM WHICH IS ABOUT TOMMY AND HAL BLAINE, NOT ABOUT US! We're NOT the low-lifes that Tommy and Hal Blaine are, we're not clowns, that film LIES and is SKEWERED and full of Misogyny (hatred of women).....bad film and the book is even worse with that UK guy wanting to make money by writing untruths about US!
