Nirvana Personally, I can't tell "grunge" from regular rock. I thought they were okay. Kids loved 'em & they've got their own martyr. Let 'em in!
Linda Ronstadt She sold a lot, but most of her hits are someone else's earlier hits, which would be more palatable to me if she didn't growl her voice where Buddy growls his, etc. She'll probably get in, but she doesn't get my vote. Peter Gabriel Former Genesis front man with no imagination for LP titles. I'm not a huge fan, but I own some (and no Genesis!). He's in there. Hall and Oates Saw 'em live once....they sucked big time, and I sincerely hope it was an off night. Not my cuppa (if I recall they were opening for Gentle Giant). The Replacements Are these the "What I Like About You" (is it Paul Westerburg?) guys? One hit wonders. Good tune, but not worthy of inclusion. YES OMG, an actual prog band with connections to Atlantic/the late Ahmet Ertegun. Nominated by popular demand? They can start a prog wing, if they get in. Link Wray It would only be about time. The Zombies I say yes, I don't think the Hall will. KISS I was way too old to "get" these guys. Rock'n'Roll All Night is one of the stupidest records ever. That's why it works, but I don't think they'll get in. LL Cool J, No, because... N.W.A., ...Ice Cube is a better actor. A definite maybe, here. Cat Stevens Will they dare? Stay tuned!! Deep Purple Probably in, but I find them boring. The Meters I know it's soul (or R&B?), but that's all I know. The Paul Butterfield Blues Band I'm surprised to see the nomination. Chic.Um, who? Is it disco? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Diamond Headz" group.
