A very innovative guy who did some very creative stuff in and post Genesis Hall and Oates I do like some stuff but I don't think they paved any roads for anyone. no The Replacements These are not the "What I Like About You" guys That was the Romantics. Last time they were nominated and didn't make it, Gene went off on Jan, thus sealing their fate. I think they paved some ground for others, but I WAS the right age for them. LL Cool J- A good artist but a shallow body of work.. He'll get in based on his celebrity status. N.W.A. - Absolutely earned it. I think they'll get in now that Public Enemy made it through. Hip Hop will start to have more artists inducted going forward. Cat Stevens - Nope... not a big enuff splash in the music world IMO Plus....... Deep Purple -No one of the worlds most boring rock bands The Meters - I think they heavily influenced Zydeco music. Maybe/ Don't know they well at all The Paul Butterfield Blues Band - I completely missed these guys... no idea Chic. - Strong musicianship and the members went on to bigger things.
