Here goes. While I now prefer Neil Young by a BIT I am getting tired of his 'stuff'. It's almost like he records every idea he's ever had...and he's now churning it out like margarine as opposed to butter. TOO MUCH so-so that's being kind] material...almost for the sake of piling another log on the woodshed pile intended for a later burning. And he no longer sings...he just shouts. Diamond on the other hand released an album on Capitol last year which is as close to 100% rancid as a man can come. Gawd what a yawn fesival!!! What sheep-dip!!! Melody Road is what it's called. It contains nothing like the 12 Songs lp material [14 actually] he released back in '06 which included that VERY neat tune he did with Brian...Delirious Love This latest 'thing' is as worthless as his xmas album and I'm afraid ol' Neil should call it a day. He's written ALL of his good songs. The cupboard is completely bare. [As it is for Mr. Young as well...although at least he doesn't sound like Bing Cosby meets Frank Sinatra meets Burl Ives meets Neil Diamond] The 2 Neils should kneel down and thank their lucky stars for the successes they've had and shut the 'eff' up. Neither of them will ever see another penny from me.
