i always think of how a bunch of us were discussing getting together on new year's eve in nyc & watching the ball drop in times square from the vantage point of an ideally situated apartment of a relative of his. then, before it happened, mike had left the building so to speak. i was really excited about that; to meet a lot of you & have some real fun. i still think of it especially toward the end of the year. gordon: i went to a convention last night in connecticut that had to do with drumming & saw some scottish pipe bands. it was ALOT of fun & i didn't get home 'til after midnight. my dad picked up a lifetime achievement award because he's spent his life instructing & writing music for marching drum lines.
