Hi Jojo,

thanks for your explanation, it's clear.
You are right: I'm running this kernel:

2.6.24-22-generic

The only thing is, do you know where can I get a compatible release of microdia?
Because I couldn't "checkout last-release-without-libv4l".
Or do you suggest to wait for an upgrade of kernel by Ubuntu?

Thank you again!
Fabio

    thanks for testing our driver,
    the issue here is you are using an older kernel,
    we recently merged our development changes to our master code branch
    (developers are working with linux v2.6.27+)

    thats why you are getting an error like error: 'V4L2_CID_EXPOSURE_AUTO'

    So if you are following the install instructions, modify them as below
    after you do git clone do the following
    $  git checkout last-release-without-libv4l

    then proceed as you normally would.

    what the additional instruction does is to you old source code,
    that works on older kernels, hope this fixes you issue immediately.

    we would expect you to move to linux 2.6.27 soon.

Lets make microdia webcams plug'n play, (currently plug'n pray)

Please delete the old microdia folder and do a fresh:
$ git clone http://repo.or.cz/r/microdia.git

The new version should fix your problem. No use going back to an old, broken version.
