There are several real world examples already collected on the
wiki, as well
as ones I already posted to the mailing list. I was now trying to
establish
"what previous standards are people actually using today", which as
I've
already stated appear to be limited to statistical and (apparently)
programming standards. Of course, if you don't want to talk about how
professionals have been doing it for hundreds of years...
Its certainly important to see how professionals have been doing things.
But, I'm not interested in trying to coerce people who write reviews
into using a formal syntax for their review interval (if they don't
already).
Your analysis of scientific methods for expressing intervals is good
and important, thank you for the contribution. Just remember we have
to keep this stuff in perspective.
