The argument of whether or not screen readers are by default configured to read out title attributes is a bit of a red herring. As long as screen readers *can* be configured to read out title attributes, there is the issue that both human-friendly title attributes (having nothing to do with microformats) and non-human-friendly ISO dates will be exposed by the same setting.
