Hi Brian,
So even if we all agree to all this, minimally two changes needed to the
example on the wiki:
-- hcard should be vcard
-- all required properties of the hcard should be present OR hcard
should be removed
Would you edit it?
Thanks,
Peter

Hmm... what could possibly be the purpose of an hCard inside an ingredient?
I discard cannibalism at this point.
--- i think people are confusing the notion that the two must be
connected. It is just semantic mark-up so for instance i could have:
<p class="vcard ingredient">You will need to add <span class="unit">3
table spoons</span> of <span class="value">specially ground
spice</span> which can be picked up at <span class="fn org">XYZ
specialty shop</span></p>
Now, an hCard aware parser will find the shop, an hRecipe parser will
find the ingredient. The fact that both are on the <p> is irrelevant
in this situation.
This goes for any mixing of vocabularies. Microformats do not force
people to mark-up their html in any special way, so there will be
overlap which have no meaning to each other.
