Hi Danny, It looks like there is plenty of water, and the terrain looks steep enough. How much distance along the stream do you have access to? It is much easier and cheaper and less disruptive to the stream if you can put a small part of the stream in a pipe (say 4" to 8" - depends on how much power you want), and run the pipe off to the side (buried if possible) of the stream to pick up at least something like 30' of head. In general, the more head you can develop in this way the less the turbine will cost for a given amount of power.
I can help you with components and info on my web site if you want a DIY type project. If you want a basic turnkey setup try Harris or ES&D from your local Solar Energy dealer. If you want a full blow utility grade system try Canyon Industries of Deming WA. Their site has some info on measuring head. http://www.canyonindustriesinc.com/Resources/Guide/HydroGuide1.htm Also take a look at Joe Cole's web site. http://home.carolina.rr.com/microhydro/menu.html Best Regards, Joe Joseph Hartvigsen Hartvigsen-Hydro 1529 South 400 East Kaysville, UT 84037 USA Micro Hydro components, turgo runners http://h-hydro.com [EMAIL PROTECTED] --- In [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > I am buying a 22 acre parcel in northern Ca, unfortunately the nearest > electricity is over a mile away.
