I am buying a 22 acre parcel in northern Ca, unfortunately the nearest
electricity is over a mile away. I am looking to get my family out of the
hustle and
  bustle of southern Ca.

I have been looking at hydro systems without any knowhow at all. I am
adding
a link to the falls at my property and was wondering if by looking at it
you
could tell if I can sustain my own electricity there.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated Thanks soo much

Heres the link to the pictures of the waterfall

   Dear Danny,
I have put together a overshot wheel that utilizes medium head
situations (5-20 foot)
It is designed for the homeowner, uses 4x4's and plastic buckets to make
the wheel itself (very cheap) and all off the shelf parts to construct the chain
drive .
I offer a How-To-Build-It-Yourself Video that walks you through the
construction step by step.
My prototype is 9 foot by five foot wide, generates 150 watts
continuous (with about 1000 gallons a minute, less than what is shown in your
picture).
It cost me less than three thousand dollars for the whole system.
Please look at my web site and see if this fits your needs.

Also I have worked out a deal with all of the other waterwheel
manufacturers to use my chain drive, so if you do not wish to construct it yourself,
please see

         Sincerely,

        Dennis
Dennis I am very interested in this type of a setup, I know it is not as
efficient as a pelton type of wheel, but what I am concerned about is this enough
to keep my household running?
say a 3000' sq foot house?
