Subject: [microhydro] Ram Pump Question/Idea

First off Let me say I have never used a Ram Pump, but was introduced
to the concept some years back while in a college program centered
around Alternative Energies.

My Idea would be to build several pumps and then take rain water,
collect it at basically into a tank at EVE level.
allow several feet of Drop sufficent for the pump to raise the water
say another ten feet into an attic tank ( one well structurally
supported ).

if possible have two Ram Pumps working at one time to fill the attic
tank. (This would work during the summer season only as I live in
Michigan).

This tank would fill to a float stop level. at this point the valve
would open and start turning a microhydro low head generator, let say
6-7 feet drop. the water going back into the EVE Level tank, and then
process starting once again.

I know there is some water loss at the Ram Pump,(maybe water that
could collect just below for flushing toilets or watering flower
beds,grass?

I am aware that the Micro Hydro would not function constantly, but I
figured it could help put some charge into a bank of batteries, say
twice an hour?

any comments? am I totally off my rocker?

Thanks Bryan south west michigan
