This business of shaft torque to be converted to heat I explored here some
years ago.... my concept was to use a hydraulic pump to pressurize oil,
pipe it to the locale to be heated and release the pressure in a manner
designed to extract the stored energy as heat.... run it through a radiator,
etc...  heavy duty components, long life, readily available stuff.  Fairly
high conversion rate with insulated lines.
